How are the Share of Search results calculated?

How the scores are calculated:

The scores are calculated based on how many products appear when the keyword is searched for on the retailers website. 


A score is then given based on the amount of 'top results' selected and the amount of your products found. 


Below are some examples of how this works. 


Example 1: 

There are 78 results or this search term, we select the Top 10 results. 

There are 3 products displayed from my Brand - position number 2, 3 and 5. 

Each of those positions has an assigned weight (19,62%, 15,38%, 12.31%)

So the share of search for this keyword on this retailers website equals 44,6% 


Example 2: 

There are 8 results for this search term, we select the Top 25 results. 

Similar like in example above my Brand occupy position 2,3 and 5 

Weights for those positions are scaled to 8 positions, therefore it is (18,03%, 16,39%, 13,11%) 

So the share of search equals 47,53%
